THE CHALLENGES OF ASKING FOR HELP IN SUPERVISION

Psychotherapy/ All

English

Supervision is a helping relationship about helping relationships. My research has demonstrated that asking for help can be challenging for helping professionals. What are the implications of: the supervisee struggling to ask for help? the supervisor struggling? How do we build supervisory relationships that facilitate seeking rather than hiding or performing? Sue will present a new model on asking for help, developed from her grounded theory research. The workshop will consider the practical application of this research within the supervisory relationship.

Psychotherapy/ All

Russian, English Translation

In psychotherapeutic practice, we are faced with a phenomenon that occurs in the process of interaction between two people: the client and the therapist. This is something third where deep changes in the personality are possible not only for the client, but also for the therapist. This phenomenon is called a psychotherapeutic relationship. Often, all that is needed to “cure” a client is to build a certain relationship with him. At my workshop I will speak about the following issues:

* What is a psychotherapeutic relationship;

* About the approaches that exist in Transactional analysis;

PERMISSION TO MAKE AND FIND MEANING AS A WAY TO CONSTRUCT SEVERAL ALTERNATION REALITIES FROM THE SAME FACTS

Psychotherapy/All

English

Our world as well as our script is constructed from a number of decisions about surroundings , our goals and objectives, self, others, life. We carry in ourselves the attitudes and injunctions from our care takers. This workshop is for those who want to explore the number of conclusions we follow. We are responsible for the script which we create. Participants will be able to construct a new reality in which a new experience and new options can be found. The true autonomy as J. Allen and B. Allen said when “we are not only script free as Berne suggested, but free of the traditional confines of reality”.

HOW TO MAKE MEANINGFUL CLOSURES

Psychotherapy/All

English

In a fragmented world where many of us multitask and focus on a variety of topics, it is vital to be able to make meaningful closures. The original people of many places knew how to make meaningful ritual closures for different stages, transitions in life or life crises. Many in the 21st century have forgotten how to mark transitions in a ritualistic and meaningful way.

By making closures we are able to step into the next phase in life without fixating trauma hanging around hampering progress and development.

I will draw upon my knowledge and experience from the indigenous north American traditions to combine those with TA theory.

We will be doing a short exercise to illustrate the practice followed by a debriefing in smaller groups. Finally we will have a group feed back to collect the experiences and learnings that we can take with us back into our practices and into our lives.

ORGANIZATIONAL COUNSELING IN A TA EXPERIENTIAL-DYNAMIC PERSPECTIVE

Organisation/All

Italian, English Translation

The selection of personnel is mainly based on the job description (job analysis, job profile), that is pre-defined standards with respect to which the candidates are identified and recruited. It is set of technical and personal requirements, analyzed as a whole. We have seen the limitations of this model; our challenge was to build a model in which technical skills and personal skills are analyzed separately. Our model differs further from the selective perspective, to move towards a promotional and educational perspective that aims to identify a personal style, as well as structuring flexible and effective communication . A good boss should not have standard features but he must know and read his own style in order to mitigate the excesses and use it in the best way in relationships, becoming familiar with his own style teaches him to manage it flexibly in the working environment. Coaching and tutoring work allows us to work both on social aspects (transactions, games, etc.) and on personal aspects (belief systems, prejudices, internal dialogue) Some assessments will be discussed to highlight the difficulties in the application of this model.
